At the beginning of the story, there is a lot of plot development. The plot in this book is developed at a good pace, and toys with the reader’s emotions. The novel is an easy read, but the theme, plot, and characters in the book show that it is far beyond “simple teen literature.” This is the case with Dreamland by Sarah Dessen is found amongst the endless number of shallow teen novels.
